HE JOINED THE 57th FLIGHT SQUADRON AND SERVED IN FRANCE FROM 5/03/1917 TO 4/10/1918, TRANSFERRING TO THE ROYAL AIRFORCE AS A CORPORAL MECHANIC ON 1/04/1918: SERVICE NUMBER 23836. FLEW IN DE-HAVILLAND DH4'S IN THE YPRES SECTOR CARRYING OUT LONG RANGE RECONNAISSANCE, BOMBING AND PHOTOGRAPHY. TRANSFERRED TO BALDONNEL ( DUBLIN.)
