From 19 September 1956 to 6 June 1957 WILLIAM was a CHIEF OFFICER, in R.F.A EARNER / R.F.A. SAUCY. From September 1957 to October 1966 he was a MASTER in R.F.A.MOORSMAN. B.F.P.O.Ship. From 11 October 1966 to 16 May 1969 WILLIAM was a CHIEF OFFICER, SECOND OFFICER in CLAN LINE. From 7 October 1969 to 28 April 1977 he was a MASTER in KUWAIT SHIPPING LINE. On 6 July 1977 he was a MARINE ADVISER in DUBAI, U.A.E. He died on 23 November 2008 in EDINBURGH. He and AGNES COOK SHARP had the following children:

29. ISOBEL MCMILLAN SHARP , daughter of JAMES HUNTER SHARP and ANNIE CURRIE MACKENZIE, was born on 27 September 1930 in WESTMOUNT LANGBANK. She died in 2002 in EDINBURGH.

 

30. LIVING MACKENZIE , daughter of JAMES BELL MCKENZIE and LIVING TAIT, married LIVING BAILLIE on 18 February 1995.

31. RODERICK NELSON , son of WILLIAM NELSON MBE and AGNES COOK SHARP, was born on 27 September 1953 in VALETTA, MALTA. He was baptised in ST JOSEPH, S CHURCH HELENSBURGH. He was educated at ST JOSEPH,S COLLEGE,DUMFRIES. He was a THEATRE TECHNICIAN,WARD ORDERLY. He was ROMAN CATHOLIC. He married LIVING KENNEDY on 4 June 1977 in FERNHILL GLASGOW. He died of LYMPHATIC CANCER on 28 December 1977 in GARTNAVEL HOSPITAL. He was buried on 4 January 1978 in BURNSIDE CEMETERY.
