On 29 July 1955 he was a MASTER in GLASGOW, LANARK, SCOTLAND. From 19 September 1956 to 6 June 1957 he was a CHIEF OFFICER, in R.F.A EARNER / R.F.A. SAUCY. From September 1957 to October 1966 he was a MASTER in R.F.A.MOORSMAN. From 11 October 1966 to 16 May 1969 he was a CHIEF OFFICER, SECOND OFFICER in CLAN LINE. From 7 October 1969 to 28 April 1977 he was a MASTER in KUWAIT SHIPPING LINE. On 6 July 1977 he was a MARINE ADVISER in DUBAI, U.A.E. He died on 23 November 2008 in EDINBURGH.
